Education
2011 Census data quoted in the ‘Times of India’ of 23 September 2016, revealed two alarming facts – as many as 8.4 crore children do not attend any school and that out of those children, 78 lakh are forced to work to supplement their parents’ income. While it reveals so many are not attending school, it is heartening to note concern of the parents, though only a tiny minority, to educate their children. Since not all children are going to Government number of parents have to set apart significant amounts from their meagre earnings, despite the passing of the Right to Education Act 2009.
The main objective of NIPUN is to ensure quality education for such children, by running preschool, non formal and remedial education centers, incorporating different innovations, for all age groups with emphasis on girl children, especially from socially and economically backward communities.
