Women Empowerment
The main objective of NIPUN is that women should have equal socio-economic, cultural and political opportunities as men. Towards this end, NIPUN ensured that at least 50 % of the recruits for the various training and capacity building programmes were girls and women.
Women in our society face many problems. It has been NIPUN’s endeavor to provide support, create awareness and empower women in various aspects of their lives and, at various levels. While no single programme can address the critical situations that women face almost on a daily basis, the programmes that are innovative in nature and women-centric in contents have the potential of delivering rich outputs and lasting impact. NIPUN is running one such programme, with the support of the Delhi Commission for Women at JJ Clusters of Meera Bagh
Achievements: 1. 256 cases of domestic violence have been registered out of which 212 cases have been resolved in favour of women; 2. Regular counseling on women’s safety, domestic violence, harassments at work place, sexual abuse, career, etc; 3. Formation of 25 community based groups; 4. Networking and linkages. |
